Upon opening it, the first thing that will catch Jason's attention is an axe, identical to the one he was eyeballing at M's apartment back home during the Mother ordeal.

Under that is a brand new brown leather jacket for Jason's Red Hood costume. In the pocket is a note that reads:

The very last thing in the box, almost completely missable at first, is a small slip of paper. On the one side all that it says is:

Should the paper be flipped over, there's a quickly scrawled note that reads:

[So, here's the thing. Tim doesn't actually mean to call Jason? But he's been compulsively spitting out his thoughts pretty much the last couple days, and he's had this kernel of something in his head he wants to say to Jason and it's been keeping him up and he's too tired to fight it. So fuck it. It's not like he can make their relationship worse than the one he has with Jason at home, right?]

Hey. So this is stupid, but I just wanted to say something? I don't know what you're like with the Tim from your universe, and I don't know where we stand. I've been trying to figure that out any time we've talked because things aren't good with the Jason from my universe. He decided he hated me for being Robin after him, and the first time I really got to speak to him, he'd broken into Titans Tower to attack me. And it never really got much better than that - sometimes I think we can figure out a, a truce or a way to at least co-exist, but I never know for sure when I see him if that's an option or if I'm going to get stabbed again.

[He's quiet for a couple seconds.] I never wanted that. When I started training to be Robin, I just wanted to be as good as you - as him and Dick were. I used to really look up to - him. I wish things could have been better.

Anyway, this was - probably stupid, but I felt like I had to say it, and I wanted to say more but I'm just - tired, I guess. [Having emotions is Exhausting.] And I doubt this made any difference anyway. I'll just stop now.

[This is the worst. Because after Cass, you would think he would stop himself. That he would be able to not call him back because he knows he won't be able to stop himself. But it's part of the compulsion, because how fucking dare he drop this shit on him in a voice mail and bounce?]

You can't just leave a message on my phone like this. What the hell? This is--I don't even know what this is, except either a call for help or the most manipulative shit I've heard since Bruce decided to use the worst day of my life against me.

[Honestly, Tim didn't really get any sleep between leaving the voicemail with Jason and then pretty much immediately panicking because leaving the voicemail was, actually, a really bad idea. By the time Jason calls back, Tim's found Harvey the cat and has been petting him gently while trying to just kind of zone out to the soundtrack of purring cat.]

I don't know. I used to want to know what it was like to feel like I had family and I - [yeah okay he stops that one.] You're family even if it's not fair to you because you never had a say in letting me in.

I don't know if that's supposed to be a joke on me being the tallest or an joke about me wanting to be all grown up. Which I am.
